At LetterLens, your privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our iOS app.

Data We DON'T Collect

• We do NOT store your letter images
• We do NOT store extracted text from your letters
• We do NOT track your usage or behavior
• We do NOT use analytics or third-party trackers
• We do NOT sell or share your data with anyone

On-Device Processing

All OCR (text extraction) happens locally on your iPhone. Your letter images never leave your device.

PII Protection (GDPR Compliant)

Before any text is sent to our analysis API, we automatically redact sensitive information on-device:

• Netherlands: BSN, IBAN, BTW-nummer, postal codes, phone numbers
• Germany: Steueridentifikationsnummer, Steuernummer, Sozialversicherungsnummer, IBAN
• France: Numéro de sécurité sociale, IBAN, postal codes
• Spain: NIE, DNI, NIF, IBAN, postal codes

Cloud Processing

After PII redaction, anonymized text is sent to:

• Cloudflare Workers: Secure proxy handling API requests
• OpenAI (GPT-4): Letter analysis and translation

Neither service stores your letter text. All processing is stateless.

Local Storage

The following data is stored ONLY on your device (via SwiftData):

• Scanned letters and analysis results
• Deadline cards in your Planner
• App settings and preferences

This data is never synchronized to iCloud or any cloud service.

Subscription Data

If you subscribe to Premium, your subscription is managed entirely by Apple through In-App Purchases. We do not have access to your payment information.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Since we don't collect or store your personal data, there's nothing to access, export, or delete on our end. All your data is on your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
